Sam Cook at the lathe

latest news

Thank you for your interest and support during 2009.
I’ve had a busy year completing work for Kitchen Shops and galleries, commissions from private individuals and some very successful craft fairs. Those that are true to the ethos of genuine artisan work are worthy of support in that they are helping to keep the tradition of genuine craftsmanship alive.

In 2010 I expect to be exhibiting and selling my work at the following events:

Our members and visiting artists include potters, painters, felt and glass workers, a photographer, textile artists, basket maker, and silver smith. The event takes place in the old Victorian village school which has been converted to create an interesting and delightful exhibition space in Burnham Overy Staithe, Norfolk

July 31st

Langham Street Fayre, Langham, North Norfolk. This is the most engaging community village event in which the main street is closed and given over to a wide variety of stalls and activities. I will be showing and selling my work inside the church which offers perfect coolness on a summer’s day.

August 21st

Burnham Market Craft Fair. This wonderful open air event has been running for over 30 years and has an excellent reputation for the quality of work exhibited there. It is held on the green in Burnham Market, North Norfolk. You will find my stall near the church.

September 25/26

Bountiful Harvest, Audley End House, Nr Saffron Walden.
This is a friendly and engaging event held in the kitchen garden of Audley End House. The emphasis is on garden and orchard produce and espouses green issues.

November 13/14th, 20th/21st, 27th/28th, Dec 4th/5th, and 11th/12th.

Christmas at Blackthorpe Barn, Rougham, Nr Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. This event is held in a thatched 16th century barn and is now in its 20th year. It has a wonderful, traditional atmosphere and although some of the exhibitors will be there for each of the five weekends, several exhibitors change thereby offering a continuously refreshed event for the whole season.

If you are planning to visit these events to see me then it may be advisable to call and confirm that the arrangements are as stated.
I hope you have a good year during which I would be pleased to see you again – if not for the first time.

Best wishes
Sam
