Thank you for visiting this page which is representative of the aspect of woodturning I most enjoy.
I always feel that it is the wood, its nature and characteristics that with only some assistance from me, allows these pieces to emerge.
In defference to the timber I try and retain, within the piece, an inkling of the journey it has travelled. Some of the timber, particularly the burrs, has taken possibly up to 300 years to develop and it will have witnessed a great deal. Having then come into my care, I feel some resposibility to treat it with consideration and allow it to continue to express itself in the many years of the next stage of its existance.
