All wood turned pieces are produced from locally sourced sustainable British hardwoods.
Woodturning is an art as well as a craft making all of Sam’s work a joy to use as well as being visually pleasing.
Sam’s woodturning range is twofold, the practical, Kitchen Woods range is a selection of robustly durable handmade lathe turned wooden items for everyday use in and around the home, consisting of oak and ash platters, cutting and chopping boards, a garlic crusher, pestle and mortar, soup, cereal and pasta bowls, serving trays and trenchers some with the addition of hand forged ironwork.
The Decorative Woods range represent the most creative and free flowing side of Sam Cook’s work. He likes, where possible, for some of the journey the timber has travelled to remain apparent and reflected in the organic and natural form of the piece which may sometimes be enhanced by the application of colour and texture.
These unique hand crafted artistic decorative and useful pieces are turned from oak burrs (a naturally occurring scarring of the wood) producing beautiful patterns within the grain, spalted beech, lime and yew. Burr wood turning produce truly unique sculptural dishes and bowls that will enhance your home.
